Platform Art, a non-traditional approach in experiencing art, began in 2003 in San Francisco, with a group of out of work creative dot comers that wanted to view art in a more exponential way. So they created these art parties to showcase all kinds of art and performances in different venues.

Polk County’s 19th Platform Art party will be held on April 28, 2012 from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. in downtown Lakeland. Next weekend’s progressive art party will feature visual art, short film, fashion, sound and performance with a focus on agricultural heritage. Tickets will be $15.00 in advance, $20.00 the day of the event, and $10.00 for students with a valid id at the door.

For an even more exciting twist there will be a public art piece funded by Platform Art that will be unveiled during the event, which is a celebration of Earth Month and Polk County’s agricultural heritage. Art Party #19: Art in AgriCulture will be an event no one will want to miss!
